Gothic Romance will, I hope, one day make a return, but for now, this is a wonderful treat for those who also wish it to come back. If you didn't enjoy the movie, the book doesn't give you anything that the movie doesn't, so you might want to pass up on it.All in all, it's a call back to an unfortunately overlooked genre. This is a great standalone book, and it's also a good read if you happened to have seen the movie first and enjoyed it. The narrative made it easy for the reader to sympathize despite the situation, and it was very emotional to listen to, just as it was in the movie. Without giving anything away.let's just say a certain 'confrontation' between two characters near the end involving a knife that ended quite badly for them both. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you? It's just as lovely as what happened in the movie. What was one of the most memorable moments of Crimson Peak? Im normally not that crazy about novelizations of movies, but this one is a complete exception - its beautifully done, totally engaging from beginning to end. She's a good reader, it's just personal preference on my part. 'Crimson Peak' is an amazing movie, a gorgeous gothic feast - love story/character study/fairy tale/horror/thriller, all rolled into one. It doesn't take away from the story, and as stated, she got the other two down pat. The girl reading does a good job in voicing Edith's character, as well as Lucille's, but I wasn't entirely fond of the way she voiced Thomas. The narrative also does a fantastic job of painting the scene for the reader. I enjoyed the movie, and in book format, it offers more perspective, insight as to what the characters are thinking as the events unfold. Where does Crimson Peak rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
